A Heart For The House

Throughout Scripture, we see that God's people have always carried a love and commitment for His House.

King David declared: "I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord."" - Psalm 122:1

God's House is more than a building-it is where people Discover His presence, Develop their faith, and are Deployed into their God-given purpose.

At Cross Church, we believe God has called us to raise up an Army to lead a spiritual revolution-an army of people who don't just attend His House, but who build it, strengthen it, and carry the vision forward.

A Heart for the House is about aligning our hearts with God's heart for His Church. It is a time where we prayerfully consider how we can support the mission God has entrusted to us: reaching people, raising leaders, and expanding the work of the ministry.

During this season, we invite every individual and family to pray, grow, serve, and give, knowing that when we invest in God's House, lives are transformed and His Kingdom continues to advance.

The Heart of the Matter

Giving to God's House is not about pressure. It is about the condition of our hearts. Jesus said, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:21.

When we invest in God's House, we are declaring that His mission matters to us. Our generosity helps create environments where people can:

• Develop in their faith
• Deploy into their calling

The Journey of Generosity

There are stages that focus on the attitudes and behaviors of the heart rather than on amounts or percentages. Each step reflects growth in a lifestyle of generosity, faith, and sacrifice, shaping us into the likeness of Christ, who gave everything for us.

FIRST TIME GIVER - THE BEGINNING
A First Time Giver is someone who decides to give for the very first time. This gift is often an offering, given as an act of gratitude and a step of faith to support the work of the Lord. For many people, this is the moment when generosity begins-when they realize that giving is part of honoring God and participating in His mission.

OCCASSIONAL GIVER - LEARNING TO GIVE
An Occasional Giver is someone who gives periodically to the Church. They are learning to step out in faith and obedience to God's Word, giving as they feel led and beginning to develop a heart of generosity. At this stage, giving is becoming more intentional as they grow in their relationship with God.

CONSISTENT GIVER - BUILDING THE HABIT
A Consistent Giver has made the decision to make giving to God a priority and a regular practice. They faithfully set aside the tithe (10% of their gross income and commit to bringing it to the house of the Lord on a consistent basis, weekly or monthly, as an act of worship and obedience. Giving is no longer occasional; it has become part of their lifestyle of faith.

SACRIFICIAL GIVER - LIVING GENEROUSLY
A Sacrificial Giver recognizes the price that Christ paid on the cross and responds by honoring God with their resources. They understand both generosity and stewardship, knowing that everything we have belongs to God. In addition to faithfully giving their tithe, they regularly give offerings-above and beyond the tithe-to support the work of God and advance His mission. Their giving reflects a heart that is fully surrendered to God.

EXTRAVAGANT GIVER - LEGACY IMPACT
An Extravagant Giver thinks about the maximum impact their gift can make and the legacy they are leaving behind. They see their giving not as a short-term act, but as an eternal investment in the Kingdom of God. They are faithful with their tithes and offerings and are willing to give whatever resources God places in their hands (finances, possessions, or opportunities) to advance His work. Nothing matters more to them than impacting this generation and making an eternal difference through generosity.
